The Design and Engineering department has excellent experience in the plastic industry who has the capability of design, re-design, reverse engineering and improves the products through the use of different CAD / CAM software and tools for each product and or application. We design for manufacturability. This optimizes the tool design and part design of injection moulding part to achieve quality, on-time delivery and cost objectives.

The tool design of aerospace injection mould is our speciality. We are proficient in PEI materials and their physical properties which are our know-how for tool design of aerospace tooling and aerospace parts manufacturing. We design many tools for aerospace parts including Armrests, Bumpers, IFE Panels, IFE Bezels, Window Bezels, Tray Tables, Monitor Shrouds, Edge Trims, Top Caps and etc.

Our Engineering team is highly involved within different stages of each project with excellent communication, always adding values supported by the long experience and know-how within the whole team.

WTM have great experience and knowledge in plastic injection mould and industrial mould manufacturing capabilities including CAM programming, CNC Turning and Milling, Grinding, EDM and Wire EDM, Polishing, Engraving and Mold Assembly. Tooling for aerospace injection is our speciality. We have a fully equipped tooling team with rich experiences, provides excellent services in mould making who will deliver your mould on time in the highest quality. We are familiar with the US, Europe in HASCO, DME, LKM standards.

Our Mori-Seiki CNC Work Cells are the cornerstone of our Tooling Fabrication. With an accuracy of up to 0.001mm (0.0001in.), the 20,000 RPM Spindles are driven with Direct Scale Feedback via absolute positioning optical scales that demonstrate unequalled accuracy and repeatability on all axis.

WTM have the capability to make very complex geometries and variations in wall thickness. The combined effort of our designers and skilful toolmakers results in molds, ensuring high quality, precision tolerances and optimal mold performance and durability with good tool life.

We injection mould fluoropolymers and other high-performance materials in high volume every day. With our in-house Sumitomo Demag Injection Moulding Machines, we have the capability and ability to deliver repeatability and precision. WTM is equipped with a high innovative dehumidifier or dryer machine.  Which provide the advantages of consistent dew point and maximum energy efficiency.  It prevents over-drying and thermal degradation of plastic resin during periods of reduced throughput by automatically lowering the drying temperature.

Our Moulding and Engineering Team have certified Master Moulders I and II from RJG Plastics where we have conducted multiple on-site training programs. Continuous improvement applies also to our people and learning how to do better every day applying the latest technologies and methodologies from a scientific point of view.

WTM is one of the earliest adopters of state-of-the-art 3D Printing to add to their Molding and CNC business with years of experience and know-how in Airline, Electronics, Medical and Rapid prototyping. Many parts have been produced for big airline corporations, including the Boeing and Airbus fleets.

With in-house production-grade FDM Printers, WTM specializes in low volume specialized parts for the cabin interiors with many of the parts being found in Business Class and the Lavatory. WTM offer a range of high-grade Aircraft Certified, Food Grade and Medical Grade materials such as ULTEM 1010 and ULTEM 9085.

WTM also can provide full-colour lifelike parts with the use of their PolyJet printer which can print up to 350,000 different colours and rubber-like material with different shore values.

3D Printing was added to go hand in hand with their moulding business, to fill the gaps in which moulding cannot fulfil such as low-volume, unique and custom-fitted parts.

Our in-house CNC machines, can help you to achieve complicated design shape by post-processing of moulding part which is consistency precision and we can perfectly replicate your design for any order quantity. Beside, the program help to make your product design revision traceability easier.

Through CNC trimming process, we can help you in minimizing your moulding investment and diversified your product range. Our CNC trimming experienced could help us in supporting high mixed low volume order ranging from different sector of products from aviation, health care to electrical appliances.

Our CNC can be programmed quickly and easily to produce different parts, allowing operations to keep up with shifting customer demands.

Since November 2018, Western Tool & Mold have incorporated in-house painting allowing us to deliver one stop solution from initial design to final product ready for installation.

Our new paint shop is equipped with the latest technology where we are performing paint application in environmentally controlled conditions (temperature and humidity) which is crucial for the best possible surface appearance.

Our highly skilled team is able to prepare any plastic, metal or composite surface and apply variety of aerospace materials (water or solvent-based) per Boeing, Airbus or any other specification.

Our secondary operations team are highly trained with in-depth knowledge for all secondary process conducted in-house.  Namely, pad printing, inserts assembly through ultrasonic and hand stacking, trimming, polishing, sandblasting, colour control through spectrometer use, dimensional control and pre-assembly requested by our customer.

Ensuring that all production processes are completed and meet the higher standard of quality.

Additionally, we have our in-house Laser Engraving machines which we use to engrave all the products being produced.  Having a clear traceability record from the first process stage until the products are being sent out.

*Under request, we can provide Bidi or bar code engraving to the parts produced, facilitating the tracking from almost any device.
